WATCH: Seydi Sall's US No. 1 1:04.47 500!

One of the biggest performances of the night at the 2019 Montgomery County Championships on Wednesday was Richard Montgomery (MD) junior Seydi Sall running the nation's fastest time in the 500 meter dash with a 1:04.47 personal best performance.

Sall's race also broke the Montgomery County meet record as he knocked half of a second off his personal best just only a few days prior on the same track at the Prince George's County Sportsplex in a 1:05.03 victory at the Montgomery Invitational. Sall had already been ranked among the top 5 in the country for much of the season when he raced against the prior US #1 ranked Eric Allen (1:04.60) in a runner-up finish at the Southern Maryland Indoor Classic.

After a great freshmen year which included Sall posting incredible times for a 9th grader of 1:05.34 in the 500 and 48.13 in the 400, his sophomore year was shortened by injuries with this indoor season being the first real full season for him since his 2017 outdoor season.
