After ranking our top 50 teams before the season we will post updated top 25 rankings at the beginning of every week!

The top-ranked teams in the state won their respective county titles this past week. The Howard girls set a new Howard County record for fewest points scored (17) at the championship race. Meanwhile, Severna Park toughed out the rain on Tuesday and held off a talented Broadneck team. All of the top-ranked teams in each county/conference won their titles, most with relative ease; Bel Air (UCBAC), Northern (SMAC) Liberty (Carroll), Urbana (Frederick) and Flowers (PG).

Meanwhile a couple teams move into the rankings after being listed in the "next five" as of last week. Huntingtown is back at full strength and nearly took down Leonardtown for second place honors at the SMAC Championships. Meanwhile, Holton-Arms has a claim to the top private school team in the state when running behind senior Francesca Cetta, a claim they backed up by winning the ISL title on Saturday afternoon. Both Arundel and Middletown move up three spots after their performances at their respective county meets.
