800 Meter Dash

Juliette Whittaker - Mount De Sales

Whittaker is our number one returner for the 800m event this year. Last indoor season, Whittaker ran a blistering 2:02.07, which is not only the fastest in Maryland but in the entire nation. Whittaker has been the fastest female 800m runner in Maryland for the past three indoor seasons, and she is likely to continue this streak for the fourth year in a row. 


Mary Gorsky - McDonogh

Gorsky became the second-ranked 800m runner after an impressive performance of 2:27.34 from the previous indoor season. She was seventh in the state at the time (as a freshman!), and now she ranks second. 

Elizabeth Pickett - Bel Air

Pickett had a strong cross country season with the fastest 3-mile time for girls in the state with 17:39.10. She also finished within the top 10 for Maryland girls based on 5K performances. She continues the rest of the year as a strong competitor with many high rankings for the indoor season. Her first being the 800m race after a 2:27.59 performance at the adidas Indoor Nationals. 


1600 Meter Run

Katherine Strong - Stone Ridge School of the Sacred Heart

Strong is by far one of the fastest 1600m runners in Maryland. She took the number one rank after a blistering 5:00.82 performance at the VA Showcase. Last indoor season, she had the fastest mile run for Maryland girls with a time of 4:56.85.

Anna Albergo - Dulaney

Albergo is another competitor to keep your eyes on this season. Albergo is our second-ranked 1600m runner behind Strong. Last year, she was the sixth-fastest in the state after an indoor PR of 5:27.24. She also ranks high in at least three other events: mile (5th, 5:17.09); 3200m (6th, 11:44.16); 2 mile (4th, 11:38.52).

Pickett makes another appearance on our top 10 rankings. This time she's ranked third for the 1600m event after a time of 5:27.78. To add, she boasts an impressive mile time of 5:17.70, which made her the sixth-fastest miler in the state for the previous indoor season. 


3200 Meter Run

This is Strong's second number one ranking for the upcoming indoor season. She took the number one rank after a blistering 10:46.27 3200m performance at the VA Showcase. Last indoor season, she also had the fastest 2-mile time of 10:53.75.

Pickett is definitely a triple threat after making a third appearance on our top 10 rankings. This time she's ranked second for the 3200m event after a time of 11:32.72. To add, she boasts an impressive 2-mile time of 11:12.29, which made her the second-fastest 2-miler in the state for the previous indoor season. 

Rubie Goffena - Manchester Valley

Goffena is our third-ranked 3200m runner after she ran a time of 11:34.74 at the Carroll County Championships earlier this year. Last indoor season, Goffena had the fifth-fastest 3200m time. Now, she's moved up two spots.
