As we finished the last regular season weekend of races before championship season starts, the girls top 10 lists shuffled around in a few spots. Varri Higgins jumped up to 3rd after a dominating win at the Gunpowder Falls Invite. She looks like she is coming into great form at the end of the year and will be in good shape to defend her 4A title.
Alexa Avila joined the list as she finished 3rd at MDXC with a big PR as well as beating some of the better runners in the state.
Leah Stephens remains 1 and it seems almost impossible for anyone to pass her. She ran 16:54 for 5k at the MileStat Invite last week which puts her time well over a minute faster than #2 Caroline Gregory. Stephens committed to Florida State earlier this week.
