Watch Peyton Dill and the Century Boys win the I-270 Rush Hour Rumble earlier in the season

Team Preview - Poolesville has been the favorite all year long to defend its 2021 title. They are running very well right now as they have won the Montgomery County Championship and the 2A West Regional leading into States. They are led by Caleb Dastrup who can place top 5 and they have a strong pack behind him who can all place in the top 25. Trying to pull the upset will be Century, Liberty, and Calvert. Calvert won the 2A South Regional, but that race was more of a time trial as they placed 6 in the top 7. Their 5th ran 19:13 at the Regional meet and will need him to run faster if they want to crack the top 3. Liberty and Century tied at the 2A West Regional with Liberty winning the tiebreaker on the 6th runner (Who were only separated by 6 seconds).  

Individual Preview - Defending Champion Ethan Aidam (Oakland Mills) looks poised to defend his 2A State Championship. The Scorpian won the 2A West Regional amongst the very tough competition and finished 2nd at the Howard County Championship. Aidam took the lead in that race with about 600 meters to go and pushed Centennial Sebastian Martinez to the line. Peyton Dill (Century) has had an outstanding season and only finished 10 seconds behind Aidam at the 2A West Regional. Caleb Dastrup (Poolesville) finished second at the Montgomery County Championships and has the ability to place in the top 3, if not win. Calvert's top duo of Jack Hartsig and Aidan Lundberg will also be in the mix for the top 5 as they finished top 2 in the 2A South Regional Champion and both have 5k PRs of 16:11.
