2023 Maryland Boys Cross Country Team Power Rankings: #3-4

#3 Loyola Blakefield

2022 County / Conference Finish: 2nd (MIAA)

Key Returners: Sean Wilson and Andrew Rowan

Key Loses: Jackson Kodenski and Carter Bruns

Outlook: Loyola graduated a few of their top athletes from a strong team last year in Kodenski and Bruns. However, they do return Andrew Rowan and Sean Wilson to lead them this year. They will have to contend with a strong Calvert Hall team for the MIAA championship but they should place high in every meet they attend this year.

#4 Severna Park

2021 County / Conference Finish: 1st (Anne Arundel)2021 Regionals Finish: 1st (4A East)

2021 State Finish: 1st (4A)

Key Returners: Taylor Jarvis and Leo Havens

Key Loses: Liam Hagerty and Christopher Nunn

Outlook: The Falcons have dominated the 4A Classification over the last decade. This year they will be moving down to 3A. The Falcons, on paper, don't bring back an overly dominant team like they have in years past but they do bring back a lot of athletes who made a big step forward during the spring track season. Coach Alcombright has shown that his teams will always be in contention come November and until he shows otherwise, the Falcons will always be a team in contention to win every meet they compete at.
