BULL RUN PREVIEW: Breakdown and Predictions for all 8 races!

BOYS MEDIUM PREVIEW

Baltimore Poly has one of the strongest teams they have had in a long time. They have two athletes who have dipped under the 17-minute barrier, Callaway Lipkin and Nicholas Bader, and have 3 more than can run under 18 minutes. Thier strong pack running should help them as they try to win the Medium division. River Hill will challenge them. Quinlan Ballou has looked strong to start the season and has improved head week. Hereford should be in the mix for a top 3 finish as well!

Individually, the top athletes who are entered in the race are Owen Infante (South River), Ryan Hartranft (Century), Jake Weakland (Hereford), and Folu Longe (Oakland Mills). Infante finished 8th at the Seahawk Intie and 4th at the Chesapeake Invite. Hartranft has also looked strong finishing 7th at the Barnhart Invite. While Infante's time of 16:03 is faster than Hartranft's time of 16:25, it's important to note that Seahawk is a 3-mile course and Barnhart is a 5k. There are 15 athletes who have run under 17 minutes so far this season, so this race looks to be an exciting one to watch!

GIRLS MEDIUM PREVIEW

Ranked Teams Competing

#15 North Harford

Ranked Individuals Competing

#10 - Alyssa Mattes (River Hill)
#15 - Ellie Bassham (CMW)

There are several teams who have a chance of taking home the trophy for the medium division. On paper, North Harford comes in as the slight favorite, but Atholton, CM Wright, Century, and South River all have strong teams. North Harford won the Track and Trail invite, which is run on a pretty fast course. CM Wright finished behind them, but they were missing one of thier top runners. Atholton has two very strong runners in Gabrielle Shord and Tianna Wilson and will look for their 3-4-5 to move up a little. They finished 3rd at the Eagle Invite.

Individually Alyssa Mattes looks like the strong favorite. She has run under 19 minutes twice already this season and is over a minute faster than the second-seeded runner, Ellie Bassham, from CM Wright. Bassham, Gabrielle Shord (Atholton), Taylor Colson (Century), and Frankie Moore from Oakland Mills should battle it out for the next three positions.

Prediction:
Team: North Harford
Individual: Alyssa Mattes (River Hill)
