Team Preview: It looks like Digitial Harbor will be the favorite for the 3A title as they are projected to score 57 points, 16 ahead of Howard and 19 ahead of Northern Calvert and Chopticon, who will be chasing them. In fact, the top of the 3A field is very close as Oakdale, Arundel, Severna Park, Oakland Mills, Baltimore Poly, and Great Mills are all within 15 points of second place which should make for a very exciting meet.

Digital Harbor will lean on sprints, relays, and hurdles to hopefully bring the team title home. Lamont Johnson has the ability to win both the 300 and 500. Jevonte Williams and Deandre Thomas can both medal in the 55m Hurdles, which for Digitial Harbor, is their strongest event. They will also be the pre-race favorite in the 4x200 and 4x400. 

Athletes to Watch:

Joseph Ensor (Howard) - Entered in the 800, 1600, and 3200, Ensor has shown the ability to win all three. He will be the favorite for the 1600 as he will be fresh for that event, the big question will be can he come back for both the 3200 and 800 and win against some tough competition? His points will be crucial if Howard can upset Digitial Harbor. 

Lamont Johnson (Digital Harbor) Vs. Jordan Tuck (Northern Calvert) - Both athletes are likely to go 1-2 in both the 300 and 500m dashes. They are the only athletes in the field to run under 35 seconds this year in the 300. Tuck has a slight advantage in the 500m as he has run 1:04 compared to Johnson's 1:06, but that was on a banked track earlier in the season. These two races should be very exciting to watch!

Grant Lohr (Oakdale) - Lohr has the top mark in the entire state in the Shot with his throw of 57-09, almost two feet ahead of the second-best throw. He will be an almost 8-foot favorite for the 3A competition. 

Kian Williams (Severna Park) - Williams has the top High Jump mark at 6-08 and will be the clear favorite for the gold medal at States. The record of 7-01 may be a little out of reach, but it's been a long time in Maryland since anyone really thought about it, and that by itself is exciting.
