Maryland Highlights From AAU Junior Olympics


Magruder's Stephanie Davis was the fastest qualifier in the 15-16 year old girls 200m dash prelims in 24.16 PR.

Day 4 Highlights

  • Stephanie Davis of Magruder, the Maryland 4A state 200 meter outdoor champion, rolled in the prelims for the 15-16 year old girls 200 meter dash, clocking a personal best time of 24.16. Davis finished fourth last week in the 200 meter finals at the USATF Junior Nationals in Jacksonville, Florida.
  • Robert Miller of Baltimore City College finished 5th in the finals of the 17-18 year old boys 400 meter hurdles with a 55.01 clocking. Miller next turns his focus at AAU JO's to the 200 meter dash after qualifying through the first round with a 21.83 clocking to finish second his heat and as the 18th seed of 24 qualifiers.
  • Eric Harrison of St. John's College in DC, but from Waldorf in Maryland, moves onto the second round of the 15-16 year old boys 200 meter dash winning his heat in a 22.06 clocking (8th fastest overall) after moving on the day before in the 100 meter dash as well.
  • Urbana's Nicholas Danner finished 11th in the 17-18 year old boys 1500 meter run with a 4:16.95 performance. Danner ran a 4:27 PR for 1600 meters this spring with an 8th place finish in the Maryland 3A state outdoor race.
  • South Carroll rising senior Erin Langille had a strong individual showing in Norfolk in the 17-18 year old girls 1500 to place 9th in a PR time of 5:04.95, which exceeds the equivalent to her 1600 PR of 5:34.
  • Marriots Ridge's Micah Meekins looked very smooth in winning her preliminary heat of the 200 meter dash at AAU Junior Olympics running a wind legal 24.40 PR (previous PR 24.67) by the Maryland 2A state champion.
  • After being the top qualifier in the prelims, Masai Russell of the Bullis School ended up finishing third in the 400 meter hurdles finals, but improved upon her time with a 1:01.00 personal best clocking.
