Mallory Moholt and the Smithsburg girls look to dominate the 1A classification again this fall. Their squad only graduated one in the #6 runner from the 2014 state champion squad with rising juniors Moholt and Erica Lindsay as the top two returnees from last year's 1A state race at Hererford when they finished second and third respectively.
Boonsboro moves down to 1A so Haley Wright certainly becomes the individual favorite, while Allegany, Boonsboro, Pikesville and several other challengers have a lot of work to do to catch up to Smithsburg who has 5 girls back with 5K PR's ranging from 20:35 to 21:25. Great depth for a small school, who also had 4 under 13 minutes in the 3200 and 4 under 6 minutes in the 1600 on the track.
