4A North Region Boys
Eric Walz (Dulaney) 15:27
A perfect score of 15 points may have happened for the Dulaney boys at the Baltimore County Championships, but highly unlikely to occur again at their regional meet with the likes of Bel Air's Kieran McDermott and Howard's Nick Deamer also in the race. The sophomore McDermott has an excellent shot at his first sub 16 5K race after running 15:38 for 3 miles to win the Harford County title, while Deamer is coming off a third place finish at the Howard County Championships.
Eric Walz and his MD #1 ranked Dulaney teammates will get another chance to roll out a fast time on their home course as that opportunity was bungled at their county meet when the start recalled the runners after many including Walz had already sprinted out beyond the first quarter mile of the race. See if Walz can improve upon his 15:27 on the course earlier in the season and potentially challenge the 15:14 course record. Dulaney will also try to get 4 under 16 minutes with Walz, Elijah Hawkins (15:48 season best), Sean Smyth (15:59), and Andrew King (16:03).
