4A North Region Girls
Bethlehem Taye (Paint Branch) 18:23
Paint Branch's Bethelehem Taye was a winner earlier in the season on the Dulaney High School course with her first sub 19 minute race at the Barnhart Invite in 18:40. Taye has since improved upon that PR with her 18:23 recorded effort for third place at the Montgomery County Championships. The 2015 4A state outdoor 3200 champ has a great opportunity on a fast regional meet course to chip away that personal best closer to 18 minutes flat.
Dulaney senior Kristin Meek was only a few ticks off Taye's Barnhart Invite time at the Baltimore County Championships with a 18:43 performance and her first sub 19 minute 5K race as well. Meek figures to be one of the challengers for Taye and has the home course familiarity, while Sherwood's Amanda Hayes-Puttfarcken is coming off her best race of the fall as well with a 18:46 PR performance at the Montgomery County Championships.
