The runner-up in last year's 4A South Regional, Estifanos Asfaw of Northwestern is probably tired of second place finishers. A runner-up two weeks ago at the Prince George's County Championship, Asfaw's 16:48 season best in that race at Fort Washington Park puts him as the fastest coming into the regional race on the same course by 13 seconds.
His competition for him to be wary of include other top PG County runners Andrew Sheppard of Bowie and Edward Belsoi of Eleanor Roosevelt. Eleanor Roosevelt should have a pack of guys battling for top 10 finishes in the regional race similar to what they achieved in winning the county title two Wednesdays ago.
