Kieran McDermott is the clearly the premier runner in the UCBAC as the Bel Air rising senior last year ran a 5K best of 16:08 at the Gunpowder Falls Invite, but was upset at the UCBAC Championships in a runner-up finish to now graduated David Dzambasow of Edgewood. Last year's loss will be on his mind this fall to get redemption after winning outdoor conference titles in both the 1600 and 800 this spring.
The pack after McDermott will be interesting to find out who breaks out among it with a solid group in the low to mid 17's for 5K returning. McDermott was only one of three non-senior to finish in the top 15 at last year's UCBAC XC Championships with the Bohemia Manor rising sophomore pair of Alex Longeway (10th) and Zachary Laird (11th) also placing well.
