Week in Review: 10/4 - 10/9


Frank Keyser Invitational: 

Men's 3 Miles Varsity Large:

For the Men's 3 Mile Varsity Large race, Arundel senior Tucker Sangster had the fastest time of the day and by a good margin. Sangster finished first in the race with a time of 15:29.9, which was 14 seconds faster than the second-place finisher. In second place was Annapolis senior Luke Coffin with a time of 15:43.1. A few seconds behind was Gaithersburg senior Sadou Sow with a time of 15:47.6. Fourth-place was a battle with Long reach junior Christian Brower and Richard Montgomery's Lucas Corea fighting for the spot. Ultimately, Bower out-kicked Corea and won with a time of 15:54.7. Corea was right behind with a time of 15:54.9. 

For the team scores, it was River Hill that took home the top honors with 72 points. Richard Montgomery, led by Corea, followed with 74 points. Reservoir finished third with 132 points.

Women's 3 Miles Varsity Large:

Similar to the Men's 3 Mile Varsity Large race, the Women's 3 Mile Varsity Large race also had an athlete win with a big lead. For the girls, it was Richard Montgomery sophomore Grace Finnegan who won the race with a blistering time of 17:46.4. Finnegan separated herself from the rest of the pack with a 37-second lead. The next athlete was Arundel senior Katherine Leddy with a time of 18:23.0. Then, it was Hereford junior Estelle Snider finishing third with a time of 18:43.4. Once again, it was a close finish for fourth place. Atholton freshman Gabrielle Shord and Hereford freshman Sylvia Snider finished just a second apart. It was Shord that took the fourth-place finish with a time of 18:43.4, while Sylvia Snider took home fifth-place with 18:44.4. 

For the team scores, Hereford, led by Estelle and Sylvia Snider, won with 65 points. Urbana was second with 73 points. Atholton, led by Shord, was third with 103 points.
