Boys Black and Gold Team Preview
Notable Teams: #1 Calvert Hall, #2 Severna Park, #3 Towson, #6 Winston Churchill, #7 Chopticon, #9 Richard Montgomery, #10 Howard High. Honorable Mention teams Walt Whitman, and Dematha.
Calvert Hall comes in as the pre-race favorite. They easily won the Barnhart Invitational and the Bull Run invitational earlier this year. It would have been nice to see them go up against some national caliber teams last week at Great American in NC, however, Hurricane Ian had other plans. With a 5k average in the low 16's, they have the ability to put 5 in the top 20 and distance themselves from the field.
Severna Park will look to run a full squad at this meet. They were missing two runners at Bull Run and finished 3rd to Towson. It will be a fun race to watch them and Towson as the Generals are much improved this season and want everyone to know that their second-place finish at Bull Run was no fluke!
Chopticon could be a surprise team in this race. They finished 7th in the Bull Run Elite race however that was without their #1 runner Mason Hoover who unfortunately was not able to finish that race. Hoover is one of the top runners in the state and can place top 10. If that happens look for Chopitcon to surprise some teams in the final results.
Prediction: Calvert Hall

Boys Black and Gold Individual Preview
MDXC will serve as the 3rd installment between Mount Saint Joe's Charlie Butler and Calvert Halls Cameron Davis. The two are 1-1 this season as Davis won at the Barnhart Invitational and Butler won at Bull Run. This course is much more similar to Barnhart than Bull Run so look for Davis to try to control the race. In the lead pack chasing those two will be Liam Hagerty from Severna Park, Chopitcons Mason Hoover, Pierre Attiogbe from St Albans, Richard Montgomery's Noah Fisher, Caleb Tenney from St. Vincent Pallotti, and Dulaney's Tyler Dailey. Daily finished second at last year's MDXC Invitational, only fractions of a second behind Howard's Joey Raudabaugh. He will be looking to try to win outright this weekend.
Prediction: Cam Davis (Calvert Hall)
