Preview: 2023 MPSSAA Girls 1A State Championships

Team Preview:

Smithsburg comes into the 1A State Championship as the heavy favorite as they are projected to score over 100 points. They score in almost all of the events. Jenna Howe and Grace Ellis can score points in the sprints and mid-distance events. Cora Gentzel and Kayla Hawbecker and projected to score big points in the distance events. They are also projected to medal in all 3 relays. 

Battling for second will be South Carroll, Largo, and Boonsboro. Largo will rely on points from the sprinting events and the relays. Ayniah Fersner and Lailah Fersner are both projected to medal in the 55, Dash and the 300m Dash. Boonsboro scores the majority of their points in the distance events.
