Maryland State Championship HUB - HERE Team Preview:
The battle for the boy's 3A Championship looks to be between Northern Calvert and Mervo with Digitial Harbor and Springbrook looking to capitalize if those teams falter. Northern qualified athletes in the majority of events from the 3A East Regional meet. They will lean on Jordan Tuck in the 300 and 500, Gavin Stevens in the 3200, Ragiariki Lewis in the Hurdles, and Bradley Jenkins in Shot.
While Mervo did not qualify as many athletes they score big points in several events. Justin DeVaughn is the favorite to win the 55m Hurdles and they have the top seed in both the 4x200 and 4x400 relays. The downside to having fewer athletes and relay teams qualify is that if one doesn't perform as expected, it could result in big changes in the team standings.
