GIRLS

Team Preview: Hereford will be the slight favorite coming into the 2A Girls meet. They will look to score the majority of their points in the distance events, mostly with standout runners Sylvia Snider and Rebekka Hillier. Between the 800, 1600, and 3200 those two are projected to score 42 points. If they can do that, and get a few points in other events, they will be tough to beat.

Centry is the projected runner-up with 50 points. They have a more complete team and should be able to score in sprint, distance, jumping, and relay events. Taylor Colson, the reigning 2A State XC champion will try to upset the Hereford duo in the 3200 and if that can happen, they can make a run at the Bulls. 

Athletes to Watch:

Gabrielle Garner (Westlake) - Garner has a shot to break the 2A 55m Dash state record as she has run 7.05 this season. She will also try to medal in the 300m dash as well. 

Hereford Distance - As mentioned above, Sylvia Snider and Rebekka Hillier will look to dominate the distance events. Hereford should also still be able to score in the 4x800 even if those two don't run on that team. 

Kaylyn Johnson (New Town) - Johnson is the favorite in the 300 and 500. She has run 40 seconds in the 300 and 1:18 in the 500 and will look to walk away with 2 golds. 

Ava Allen (Middletown) - Allen will be the favorite in both the 55m Hurdles and the Pole Vault. She has jumped over 13 feet and will try to break the state record!
