Franklin sophomore Nyjari McNeil pulled off the double in 3A claiming the 500 and 800 meter titles after being a 500 champ as a freshmen. River Hill's Sydney Robinson had an impressive state meet debut in taking runner-up in the 3A girls 500 meter dash behind only Njyjari McNeil in a personal best time of 1:17.81. Virtual meet preview for the Maryland 1A Boys State Championships. On paper, Fairmont Heights and Smithsburg will be the top two contending teams at the state meet as Anthony Glasgow will be looking to generate many of the points for his Fairmont Heights squad doing the distance triple (1600, 3200, 800). He will have to Smithsburg's Will Merritt to deal with in the 1600 and 3200 then Smithsburg's Micah Daigneault in the 800.
