This might be a first. Taylor Parker, a senior at Largo High School, went over 40 feet in the triple jump (40'1") and the shot put (42'2") in the same meet at the Screaming Eagles Invitational on Saturday. Both Maryland #1 ranked performances. Talk about an athlete!

The Northwest senior hurdler duo of Shyheim Wright and Andrew Daniels opened up with some jaw dropping times in the 110 meter hurdles at the Central Invitational with Wright winning in a MD #1 clocking of 14.01 and Daniels in second with a MD #2 performance of 14.19.

Surrattsville junior Rakiya Taylor will be a top contender for state titles in 1A for the girls 100 and 200 meter dash. Especially after opening the season at the Central Invitational clocking times of 11.91 in the 100 and 25.75 in the 200.

Suitland's Keith Washington ran sub 51 seconds in the 400 as a freshmen last year and got off to a great start for his sophomore spring season with a fifth place finishing time of 51.18 at the Central Invite winning his 400 meter heat. He also split sub 2 minutes on the opening leg of the 4x800.

River Hill freshmen Sydney Robinson dominated her first high school outdoor track meet. In a tri meet on her home track at River Hill, Robinson won the 100, 200, and 400 in swift times of 12.36, 25.21, and 57.34 respectively.
