Maryland Highlights From AAU Junior Olympics

Day 2 Highlights

  • Kollon Smith (Upper Marlboro, MD) picked up the first AAU title of the week for the high school aged athletes from the state of Maryland keeping his day one lead through the end of the competition in the 15-16 year old boys decathlon winning with a total score of 6,088 points. Linganore's Lars Eklund also competed and finished 8th overall with 4,961 points.
  • D'Amaie Davis from Baltimore Poly won the 15-16 year old girls 3K racewalk in a time of 17:45.07, finishing 34 seconds ahead of her closest competitor.
  • After sitting in fifth place after day one of the 17-18 year old boys decathlon, Ritchie Case from Frederick, Maryland ended up falling back on day two to finish 8th in the final points standings with 5,773 points.
