Matt Bennett (Northern-Calvert, Sr.)
Matt Bennett is one of the fastest returning milers in the state after closing out his spring with a 4:20 1600 meter personal best for fourth place in the Maryland 3A State Meet, but he is also aiming to show he is one of the best in cross country too. The Northern Calvert rising senior Bennett had a great double in the state outdoor meet to also garner another All-State honor in the 3200 in third place, while running 9:32 PR earlier in the season. Bennett made a huge improvement his state cross country meet finishes from sophomore to junior year going from 95th place in 2013 to finishing in 7th place in 2014. He clocked a swift 15:53 5K PR on the track this past March to build even greater confidence heading into his final cross country season.
