No. 10: River Hill High School
The River Hill boys get a lot of the attention with their streak of three straight 3A state championships, but the River Hill girls are one of the best teams in the state as well. After winning the state title in 2014, they slipped a bit to "just" third place last season. The good news for them is that four of their top five finishers from the 2015 3A State Championships are back, along with rising senior Jennifer Hornor who ran at the regional meet but not at states. Those four girls all placed in the top 40 at last year's state meet. Their top returner, rising junior Jasmine Tiamfook, has finished 11th and seventh at states in her first two seasons of high school cross country, respectively. With Howard at number 11 on the list and Atholton at number 12, the River Hill girls find themselves right in the thick of what should be another very competitive, balanced Howard County Championship meet in October. They're also the third-highest ranked 3A team on the list, and will definitely be shooting for their second team title in three seasons when the state championships roll around in November.
