Last year's senior class of hurdlers left a massive void on the returning leaderboard, one that is only widened considering that Parkdale's Tyrone Bryan won't be competing this spring, either. That leaves just Daniel Whitfield, and even he isn't returning with the same school (he now runs for Henry A. Wise after competing at Riverdale Baptist as a junior). He had the second-fastest 55 meter hurdle time in the state this winter (7.34).

Others to watch: Andre Turay fell just outside of the top ten returners list, but the new South Hagerstown Rebel ran a state-leading 7.27 in the winter; Flowers' Brandon Tunson dominated the 4A scene in Whitfield's late-season absence; Aaron Hackett could probably win the 1A state title in at least five events this spring if the rules allowed; Zackary Sampson ran faster than his Oxon Hill teammate Daniel George this winter, and the two could be the best 1-2 hurdle punch in Maryland.
