Two girls broke 18 minutes at the Maryland state meet for the first time in Hereford course history

Eastern Tech's Taylor Baranoski not only emerged from the pack to win Saturday's 2A state title - he blew away the competition in the second half of the race.

Annapolis' Maria Coffin and Walter Johnson's Abbey Green became the first girls to crack 18 minutes at Hereford High School.

C.M. Wright freshman Haley Wright became the first freshman to capture a state cross country title in Maryland since 2012.
