Video of the 400 Hurdles Race Post Race Interview With Autumne Franklin DES MOINES, Iowa – In her finest performance of a stellar freshman campaign, Harvard hurdler Autumne Franklin captured the 400 hurdles title Saturday at the USA Track and Field Junior National Championships on the campus of Drake University. With the win, Franklin has earned the chance to represent the United States at the Pan-Am Junior Championships in Colombia at the end of August. (via Harvard)

Girls Athlete of the Week: Lakin Hatcher, McDonogh, track and field May 14, 2013

The sophomore sprinter added to an already impressive running resume with four gold medals in leading the No. 1 Eagles to the Interscholastic Athletic Association of Maryland track and field championship. She won the 100 and 200 meters and ran legs of the winning 800- and 1,600-meter relays. Undefeated in the 100 and 200, she has won seven IAAM titles in two years. An All-Metro first-team selection during the indoor track season, she helped the Eagles take that team title, too, by winning the 55 and 300 meters and anchoring the gold-medal 800 relay. A 4.0 student, she runs during the summer for Team Accelerate Maryland and last summer was a USA Track & Field intermediate 400-meter relay finalist. In 2009, she was an Amateur Athletic Union All-American in the 1,600 relay. (via baltimoresun.com)

McDonogh wins MIAA and IAAM outdoor track championships May 13, 2013

McDonogh did it again. The Eagles swept the boys and girls titles at the private school championship meet indoors, and they pulled off the same feat again Saturday. McDonogh's boys took the Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association crown while the top-ranked girls won the Interscholastic Athletic Association of Maryland championship in the title meet at Archbishop Spalding. Top-ranked Gilman used its depth to capture a fourth straight Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association track and field title Saturday afternoon at Archbishop Spalding. Taking advantage of their talent across the board in sprints, distance, relays and field events, the Greyhounds finished with 202.5 points to easily beat No. 2 Mount St. Joseph (147) (via )

Girls Athlete of the Week: Autumne Franklin, McDonogh, track and field Stephen Lee Apr 17, 2012

The senior won the 100- and 300-meter hurdles at Saturday's Pikesville Track Classic, helping the No. 1 Eagles take second place. Franklin set a meet record in the 300 hurdles when she came across in 42.33 seconds, comfortably defeating Old Mill senior Alexis Franklin (44.01), who beat her in the same race last year at Pikesville. Autumne Franklin won Saturday's 100 hurdles with a time of 14.47 seconds. Set to compete at Harvard next year, Franklin earned All-Metro second-team honors last spring and then made the first team after this winter's indoor season. (via baltimoresun.com)

MD Girls at Nike Indoor Nationals Ben Thomas Mar 16, 2006

The State of Maryland produced 12 Girls All American individuals and teams, along with three National Champions! All three National Championships were taken by Eleanor Roosevelt HS in the 4x4 (4:05.5), 1600 Medley (3:54.3), and 4x8 (9:14.82). The \"Blazin Raiders\" also took home a second place finish in the DMR with a time of 12:07.3. Theresa Lewis took home the bronze medal in the 60m Hurdles, running 8.42. She also nabbed a bronze medal running in the 4x55 Shuttle Hurdles with Flying Doves TC. MD had three 4th place finishers in Tameka Jameson (2:12.85, 800m), Alison Smith (4:57.09, 1 Mile), and Flying Doves TC (1:43.00, 4x2). Maryland also has three fifth place finishers in Teshika Rivers (5:17.37, Fresh Mile), Saniel Atkinson (5-05, HJ), and McDonogh School (1:43.38, 4x2). MD had one sixth place finisher in Kristin Malloy (Fresh Mile, 5:17.80) Congrats to our All Americans, and a list of all Maryland finishers is inside!
